Bela Horvath
Featured violin teacher of the week
Hungarian born violinist/violist, Bela Horvath, is winner of the National Janos Koncz Violin Competition in Hungary, and was the youngest prizewinner in the 9th International Carl Flesch Violin Competition. Bela has performed all over the world as soloist and chamber musician, including a Carnegie Hall debut in 2003. Bela completed his Bachelors and Masters of Music Degrees from the Manhattan School of Music where he studied with Pinchas Zukerman and Patinka Kopec.
Bela is currently violin faculty in Manhattan School of Music's Pre-College division, and has also tought at several renowned summer festivals including Summit, NAC's Young Artists Program in Ottawa, and the Heifetz Institute. Read More....

Violist Katarzyna Bryla-Weiss was born into a family of musicians and has gone on to earn more than two dozen prizes and awards in the United States, France and her native Poland. Katarzyna regularly performs with orchestras, chamber groups, and as a soloist in an international career that has taken her across four continents. In 2019 she became a member of St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble, the artistic core of Orchestra of St. Luke’s.
Katarzyna is currently a member of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, New York City Ballet Orchestra, New York Pops Orchestra, and regularly appears with New York City Opera. She was a soloist with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra in their tour of China in 2010, and was soloist for the noted Maazel/Vilar Conducting Competition in Cracow in 2001. Read More....

A laureate of the 2016 Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition, Larry Weng has been described in The New York Times as playing with “steely power and incisive rhythm.” Mr. Weng is also a laureate of the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Concerto Competition, the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition for Young Musicians, and The New York International Piano Competition.
In 2009, Mr. Weng graduated from the joint degree program between Columbia University and The Juilliard School with a BA in Economics and an MM in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Professors Jerome Lowenthal and Matti Raekallio. He continued his studies with Professor Boris Berman at the Yale School of Music, where he received his Doctorate. Read More....
