Each course you take is worth 5 credits, when you earn 100 credits, you are eligible to receive a Certification of Completion from the LMA Pre-College Program!
Our Philosophy
We believe exceptional music education should be accessible, flexible, and personalized. Our philosophy centers on empowering young musicians to design a path that suits their goals, offering a curated yet adaptable curriculum that values artistry, effectiveness, and well-roundedness—preparing students not just for potential auditions or competitions, but for a lifelong connection to music.
Why We're Different
While other pre-college programs offered by traditional conservatories require you to maintain a full course load in each semester to remain qualified, which can be very challenging for busy kids, as well as for parents who have to drive kids to the classes and then wait the full day - LMA offers the option to take all of its core and elective courses online, and at your own pace!
How it Works
Take at least one course through LMA, and earn credits for each completed course while working toward a Listeso Music Academy Certificate of Completion. Eligible courses include private instrumental lessons (either with your current teacher or one of ours), music theory, ear training, music history, and more—offered both in person and online. Finish on your own schedule, with guidance every step of the way.
A Note from the President

During my formative years, I lived in an area that didn't have a nearby conservatory, so my musical education primarily consisted of private violin lessons, a regional youth orchestra, and the occasional chamber music camp. I found this to be quite isolating and at times unmotivating - but it wasn't until I went on to college at Manhattan School of Music and Juilliard, when I realized that the lack of general music studies like ear training and theory left me severely behind compared to my classmates who did benefit from a comprehensive pre-college program.

The experience of being a violin student myself, and then going on to teach at the university level, I know all too well that countless kids have similar experiences with their music education, so am so excited that an academy such as this exists offering a unique environment pairing the rich traditions of music education and the incredible technology that brings it into the 21st century!
